the weekend i flew up with breck to look at apartments he was deathly ill. he had pneumonia (although he didn't know it at the time). he was such a trooper. we had to find a place by the following weekend, so we were def in crunch mode.

he had gotten worse since i flew in and by sunday morning checking out wards, i told him that finding an apartment was important but i would not go look for more apartments until he went to urgent care.

it was mother's day which meant we could talk to his brother, tate, who was serving a mission. breck probably said two whole words to tate and we signed off. it was the saddest thing i have ever witnessed.

anyway, we found an apartment that we liked and it has worked out! we are about 8 miles north of the city of seattle. which is great, because breck works right downtown so he drives to work (traffic = a nightmare).

our little 2 bedroom apartment has that "urban" vibe going on with the cement floors and i love it!

Also, those black "go green" garbage bags next to our cute bench? yeah that's because everywhere charges for grocery bags here. ranges for $.05 -$.20 (thanks, norsdtrom). that by far is the hardest thing for me to get used to. booo.

Week of Halloween

The week of Halloween was wild, but fun. My favorite part of the week was definitely a present a student gave me. All week long my class learned about Halloween in other countries, in particular in Ireland. One tradition they have is to eat this special bread as a way of telling fortunes. If you find a coin in your bread, it means you will have good fortune and will be rich. If you get a ring in your slice of bread it means that you will be married within a year. So what did I get from a student?? A doughnut with a ring in it. Can you tell they are so concerned with me getting married. Love it.

I also went to Thriller. So fun! I am not coordinated (slash can't sing) but it was awesome. 

Oh and Halloween? I was a Spelling Bee Champion. I will say I was pretty proud of how my costume turned out. I mean, I wanted to be a Queen Bee or should I say Queen "bey" (beyonce) but I had to remember I needed to be at my 9 and 10 year olds level. Halloween at school FLEW by, it's pretty much a wash of a day but is so fun for the kids. As for me, I wanted a nap when the day was done!

Little (or not so little) thoughts:

+ Dear life: Last week was possibly the worst week of the entire year. Everything went wrong. Everything broke. And my brain ended up in the lost (and then maybe found). When I asked if the week could get worse, it wasn't a challenge. Sooo thanks for ignoring my rhetorical question and ending my week with a speeding ticket. Def NOT the cherry on top (looking forward to a new week...).

+ I'm obsessed with floppy hats. I've bought two in the last two weeks.

+Bring on No-Shave-Novemeber.

+ Stoked for Thanksgiving. And to make our annual holiday music video.

+ And to see this bundle of joy. There's nothing cuter than a baby giggling.

+My parents buying a place in Park City was probably the best decision they've ever made. Well, besides having me of course.

+ Everyone needs to read the book Wonder. IT'S THE BEST.

+ Scandal is my favorite TV show. I can't get enough. Jake Ballard? GET AT ME. Breaking Bad is a close second right now (although I had to take a break for a min...)

+ Halloween on Friday means this week will be nuts. But so fun. Can't wait to party with my kids.

+ TOMORROW, October 27th, IS THE DAY. T.Swift's CD comes out. Headed to Target at the butt crack of dawn to get her bonus soundtrack. Oh you aren't? Sucks to suck.

+ I just want 500 million dollars, a Lexus IS 350, a bearded man AND a baby. Too much? Didn't think so.

Halloween

You guys. I thought the first week of school was tiring.
WRONG. Halloween week definitely tops it.

Anyway, here's a few things I've been up to:

1. Witches Night Out at Gardner Village with my two Stacie's. Witch, please.

2. Definitely was rocking fifty shades of nerd for Halloween. However, I am pretty sure everyone (and then some) was a zombie of some sort. What is with everyones obsession with zombies? #overit

3. My FAVORITE costume at school was the most simple of them all.

Jake, from State Farm. I was DYING!!

3. A little girl who was in my class last year and is also in my class this year, remembered that November 1st I was officially their teacher. She brought me an anniversary gift. 

It was the SWEETEST thing. I was shocked she remembered! Love kids.

4. Halloween night I was pooped! School for sure wore me out. 

However, a few of us went to Slab Pizza in Provo to celebrate. 

5. Last but not least, in class we were also celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Mexico for November 1st. Our kiddos earned an extra field trip, so we were stoked it was the day after Halloween. I love Tammy, she is definitely one of my favorite teachers to teach with! #butreally 

I've learned so much from her and we know how to keep it real and have a good time!

Halloween was fun, but I am so glad it is over! 

I am ready for the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. 

But I am not ready for it to fly by. Boo.
