early last fall i wasn't sure where breck and i would be a few months from then. long distance was hard. when were we ever going to live in the same place? i was a teacher, so the only possible time we could live in the same city or state would be in the summer. 

however, i had a feeling "go through the holidays," and boy am i glad i did. i had that impression a few times, but i was a little confused. mainly because through my eyes, we would see each other for a few days during thanksgiving and christmas break and that would be it. w r o n g. the big guy upstairs sure knows us better than we know ourselves. 

breck was able to live and work in utah from thanksgiving break until my birthday, january 10th! he didn't find out until mid-novemeber. we both look at it as a tender mercy. during that time is when i knew i never want to be without him. 

so since i knew then that we were going the distance, i made him the cutest book of us on shutterfly for christmas. we look at it all the time! i am sooo obsessed with shutterfly.

for the wedding, i made our guest sign in book on there. i also made a cute little book called "our story." it is officially my new favorite!! this book tells how we met, places we've been and things we've done, how we knew each other was "the one," and the engagement from his perspective and my perspective. i know it is a book we will always cherish and look at! 

so thank you, mr. postman. i don't think i have ever been so excited about the mail before!

last year, i had a resolution to go on as many adventures as i could find (and afford). and i held myself to that. every time i was invited somewhere, whether it was just a party at a cabin or a trip to st. george, i took the opportunity to go. jet to hawaii for nine days? a total yolo moment. and it was worth every second. i definitely went on a lot of adventures in 2014.

my new resolution or motto for 2015 is to not hesitate when it comes to serving others and look for more opportunities to do so. i really haven't been seeking out service opportunities and feel like this year i want to make up for that. doesn't have to be big. could be the smallest thing like helping a friend move, holding up a door or lending a smile.

i am so excited for the coming year and what it may bring. so 2015? bring it.

{ Son of a Nutcracker }

One faint memory I have with my Grandma Johnson is when she took us Johnson girls to the Nutcracker Ballet at the Opera House. I remember feeling so grown up that I was able to go. I don't remember much of the actual ballet itself, but loved going with my big sisters. 

This year I decided I was not going to let Christmas pass me by. Meaning, I wanted to take full advantage of embracing the spirit of Christmas. One of the ways I was going to embrace the Christmas spirit was going to The Nutcracker with my girlfriends and sister, Lisa. 

Besides breaking the Nutcrackers arm, the little girl sitting in front of Lisa and I who couldn't sit still, I'd say the night was an overall success. 

{ New Year, New Me }

Welcoming in another year and things are looking good. I have one goal in mind for this year:

GO ON MORE ADVENTURES.

Why? I am turning 26. I don't want to look back at life in my twenties and wish I would have gone on more adventures.

Of course I have other goals as well. But adventure?
